QHYCCD Controlled Circulation Drying System
The QHYCCD Controlled Circulation Drying System is an advanced moisture control solution designed for professional cameras, including those used in astrophotography. This system effectively prevents condensation on the camera sensor by maintaining a controlled, dry environment.
It is suitable for all the QHYCCD scientific cameras, and some PH cameras (*).
(*) Available for PH cameras that include the two holes on the front as shown in the following image.
The system includes:
- Vacuum Pump: Ensures stable air circulation.
- Drying Tube with Filter: Removes excess humidity, providing clean, dry air.
- Drying Interfaces: Seamless integration with your camera body.
Main Features:
- Keeps the camera sensor free from condensation.
- Easy integration with high-end cameras.
- Long-lasting drying tube with visible desiccant indicator.
- Reliable performance even in high-humidity conditions.
Uses:
You can still use the single drying tube for desiccation, or you can pair it with the QHY cycling drying system (sold separately) for controlled circulation drying. Under the action of the vacuum pump, the gas in the sensor chamber is extracted through one drying port and enters the drying tube. After desiccation and filtration, it is then input back into the camera through the other drying port, creating a continuous cycle for drying.
Important notes:
- Drying material not included
- Do not reverse the order of the “in” and “out” ports.
- Before starting the drying cycle, make sure to turn off the cooler. Wait for the temperature to return to normal before beginning the drying cycle. Following this procedure is essential for effectively removing moisture from the sealed chamber. If the cooler is left on, it will attract moisture, causing more condensation inside the camera rather than allowing the desiccant to absorb it.
- Before the drying work, it is necessary to turn off the cooler and wait for the temperature to return to room temperature before starting the drying work. Following this step can effectively remove the moisture in the sealed chamber. If the cooler is on during the process, the moisture will be absorbed by the cooler inside the camera and not be absorbed by the desiccant.
- The frequency of using the circulation drying device is related to the ambient humidity. In high-humidity environments, it needs to be used more frequently, for example, run once every three days. For dry areas, it can be used once a week.
- After long-term use, the circulation drying device needs to be regularly checked and the desiccant replaced. When replacing the desiccant, please check if the silicone sealing rings at the connections, and replace them if necessary.
